Indonesian authorities repatriated former Investree president director Adrian Asharyanto Gunadi from Doha and arrested him in Jakarta for allegedly illegally collecting public funds of at least Rp 2.7 trillion.
The country’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) said the operation was coordinated with the National Police, the Attorney General’s Office and several ministries.
Investigators said Gunadi was uncooperative and later located in Doha.
He allegedly used PT Radhika Persada Utama and PT Putra Radhika Investama as special purpose vehicles to raise funds under Investree’s name between January 2022 and March 2024.
Authorities said part of the money was used for personal gain.
While in Qatar, Gunadi was reportedly appointed CEO of JTA Investree Doha Consultancy, a senior executive role he assumed despite his legal status in Indonesia.
OJK said he faces criminal charges that carry prison terms of five to ten years.
Gunadi is now in custody at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) detention center while investigations continue.
Authorities added that Indonesia issued a wanted list and Interpol Red Notice on 14 November 2024, revoked his passport, and sought cooperation from Qatar through diplomatic channels.
OJK said it remains in contact with law enforcement agencies over victim reports and further legal action.
