Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has secured a position in the 2025 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list, ranking 14th overall and fourth among the region’s financial institutions.
It is the highest-ranked financial institution from Indonesia in this year’s edition.
The list, now in its second year, ranks Southeast Asia’s 500 largest companies by revenue, based on data ending on or before 31 December 2024.
BRI reported consolidated revenue of US$17.68 billion for the fiscal year, reflecting an 18.6% year-on-year increase.
BRI’s position places it ahead of several regional firms, including SEA and Singapore Airlines (Singapore), Charoen Pokphand Foods (Thailand), and Maybank (Malaysia).
The rankings are compiled with support from research institutions such as LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), Bloomberg, and S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Fortune noted that this year’s list highlights Southeast Asia’s increasing role in global supply chains and the rapid development of industries such as mining, EVs, and AI.
Commenting on the recognition, BRI President Director, Hery Gunardi said,

“This achievement is a clear testament to BRI’s continued commitment to maintaining solid performance fundamentals amid global economic challenges and dynamics.”
He added that BRI’s transformation into a universal banking institution has been central to its strategy:
“BRI aims not only to be the best bank for the MSME segment but also to serve the full spectrum of customer needs, from individuals to large corporations, across all levels of society.”
