Lion Group will provide up to US$12 million in investment consideration through a non-cash share-based transaction with Meili Capital Management to back PT Nusantara Bumi Sangkara.

A share-based structure involving Meili Capital Management will secure a 10% indirect economic interest in the Indonesian firm.

The deal also expands exposure to Southeast Asia’s digital economy and digital payments infrastructure.

Lion Group will structure the transaction through the issuance of its ordinary shares or other equity-linked securities.

At the centre of the deal is NIDR, a stablecoin pegged to the Indonesian Rupiah, designed to enable low-cost cross-border fund transfers and value exchange services.

Nusantara Bumi Sangkara has received regulatory approvals or confirmations from Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK).

The company is building digital financial infrastructure that integrates blockchain technology, smart contracts, and automated risk control.

This move supports Lion Group’s broader digital asset treasury strategy. The firm is diversifying its holdings to include real-world asset-backed tokens and regional payment platforms.

The investment aligns with Lion Group’s proposed acquisition of Aquila Hash and its focus on combining artificial intelligence infrastructure with digital finance applications.

“This strategic participation through Meili marks a milestone in our expansion into Southeast Asia’s digital economy,”

said Wilson Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Lion Group.

Wang added that the non-cash transaction structure allows the company to preserve capital while gaining exposure to the digital payments platform.
