Flip has formed a strategic partnership with Indian fintech Paytm to introduce Soundbox technology to offline retailers in Indonesia.
The device will be rolled out through the Flip Kasir platform, beginning with selected merchant partners in Jakarta.
Flip will oversee local deployment, while Paytm provides the Soundbox technology and operational expertise. The collaboration brings Paytm’s merchant payment device to the Indonesian market.
The device immediately announces successful digital payments, reducing the need for merchants to manually check receipts at the counter.
Digital transactions have grown rapidly across the country, driven by the widespread adoption of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard), the national unified QR code framework.

“Digital payments in Indonesia have been growing rapidly with QRIS transforming merchant acceptance across the country,”
said Pratyush Prasanna, Group CEO of Flip.
“Through Flip Kasir and our partnership with Paytm, we are bringing proven merchant payment infrastructure solutions to offline businesses in Indonesia.”
The partnership combines Paytm’s expertise in Soundbox, QR-based payment acceptance and merchant payment infrastructure with Flip’s existing payment ecosystem.
Founded in 2015 and licensed by Bank Indonesia, Flip currently serves more than 16 million customers across domestic and international payment services.
