Flip, Indonesia’s largest independent financial technology group, has appointed Mohammed Alabsi, a former Amazon engineering leader with extensive global technology experience, as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Rafi Putra Arriyan, Co-Founder of Flip, said,

“From the beginning, Flip was founded on the belief that financial services should be fair, simple, and accessible to everyone. Alabsi’s experience in building large-scale systems is aligned with that mission and will help ensure Flip’s technology remains a solid foundation for everything we do.”
Alabsi spent over a decade at Amazon in Seattle, where he was part of the founding teams behind the company’s AWS, Advertising, and B2B Commerce businesses.
He later held senior technology leadership positions in Indonesia and has been an active angel investor and technology adviser across the region.
Commenting on his appointment, Alabsi said,

“Having also been an active angel investor across Southeast Asia, I have seen first-hand how technology can empower entire ecosystems, and I’m excited to bring that perspective into Flip’s next chapter. Together with the Flip team, we will continue building scalable, reliable, and innovative technology that advances this mission and delivers real impact for both individuals and businesses.”
In 2024, Flip also appointed Pratyush Prasanna, a former GoTo Financial and PayTM executive, as Group CEO to strengthen its leadership and drive the company’s next phase of growth.
Founded in 2015, Flip has evolved from a free interbank transfer service into a comprehensive financial platform serving over 16 million users and thousands of businesses.
Its services now include international remittances, bill payments, lifestyle solutions, and business products through Flip for Business and Flip Globe.
Most recently, the company partnered with Bank Aladin Syariah to introduce digital sharia savings within its app, furthering its aim to make financial services fair and accessible to all.
