Google Cloud has introduced Indonesia BerdAIa for Security, a new programme aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s cyber security across key economic sectors.
At the heart of the initiative is the establishment of a new security operations data region in Jakarta, allowing local organisations, including government bodies and those in regulated industries, to use Google’s AI-powered Security Operations platform while meeting national data residency requirements.

“Financial losses and reputational damage from data breaches stem from three of security’s most deeply-rooted problems: threat overload, toil, and the widening talent gap,”
said Fanly Tanto, Country Director for Indonesia at Google Cloud.
“Indonesia BerdAIa for Security helps organisations overcome these problems,”
she added, pointing to the availability of advanced threat detection tools and access to expert support.
Research cited by Google Cloud suggests that Indonesian organisations could avoid losses of up to IDR 29 trillion (around US$1.8 billion) over the next five years by adopting AI-enabled security platforms and threat intelligence solutions.
The programme offers assessments of existing cyber security frameworks, tailored improvement strategies, and guidance on building or upgrading security operations centres.
The Google Security Operations platform allows organisations to collect security data from across their IT environments, whether on premises, in Google Cloud, or in other cloud systems.
This data is enriched with Google Threat Intelligence for analysis and threat detection.
AI tools within the platform include an alert triage agent, an investigation assistant that responds in natural language, and a playbook assistant to automate incident response processes.
Tanto noted that these AI features enable junior analysts to carry out advanced security functions without requiring deep expertise.
“This is part of Google Cloud’s expansive vision for an agentic SOC,”
she said, referring to a security operations centre supported by a connected system of AI agents that streamline workflows and support decision-making.
To address the skills gap, the programme includes subsidised access to training resources such as Google Cloud Skills Boost for Organisations and Mandiant Academy.
These courses are offered in collaboration with local managed security service provider partners including Accenture, AGIT, Deloitte, Elitery, and SQShield.
Organisations such as Astra International, Bukalapak, Dipo Star Finance, and Kereta Api Indonesia have already joined the initiative.
